This piece is cast in solid foundry bronze, using the lost wax technique that has been practised for centuries, then finished by hand through patination, where acids and heat are worked into the surface to build a deep, rich brown colour, before a final coat of wax is applied, protecting the finish and keeping the colour rich for years to come.
