The most loved of our woodland animals, immortalised as Squirrel Nutkin, the Red Squirrel has unusual qualities, whether in hanging upside down, swimming, or showing amazing memory in being able to find food previously hidden in twelve inches of snow.

This piece is cast in solid foundry bronze, using the lost wax technique that has been practised for centuries, the surface is then finished by patination - acids and heat applied by hand to develop a deep, rich brown patina, and sealed with a protective wax that keeps the colour looking its best for years to come.
