Witchy gifts: from the altar to the keyring

The witchcraft shelf has candle holders, journals, incense holders, mugs, purses and a broom guard, with ravens and moons tucked into product names. It is a shelf of objects people enjoy: useful, decorative, bookish and a little moonlit.

Candles and holders for the altar corner

Pentagram Spell Candle Holder, Purple Spell Candles Pack of 12 and Triple Moon Incense Stick Holder make up the altar-corner side of this little group.

The broom by the door was a folk custom of hanging a besom by or over the door to keep unwelcome spirits and visitors out. That custom is part of the folklore cupboard, not a claim about a product.

Nemesis Now is a British company based in Stoke-on-Trent, founded in 2003.

Journals with blank pages

Ravens Grimoire Journal Nemesis Now has blank paper pages inside. The Nemesis Now grimoire journals have sculpted resin covers rather than hardback book covers.

Forest Grimoire Journal Nemesis Now shares the grimoire-journal shelf with the raven piece. The pleasure is in the covers and the pages: one for writing, one for closing with a little weight after the last line.

Nemesis Now makes cold-cast resin figurines and giftware and describes its own products as hand-painted.

Mugs, purses and the everyday witchy thing

Witches Brew Cauldron Ceramic Mug puts a cauldron shape into the kitchen side of the shelf. Ravens Flight Black Wing Floral Embossed Purse carries wings, flowers and a purse shape in one name.

Broom Guard 11.5cm is a small figure for a broom handle. The witch's familiar was a medieval and early-modern European folk belief in a spirit helper in animal form, and black cats became tied to it through nocturnal, solitary habits and the witch-hunt era.

Goldenhands stocks Nemesis Now journals, incense holders and purses among its gothic and fantasy ranges.

Objects, not promises

These pieces are sold as things to use, write in, display or give: holders, candles, journals, mugs, purses and small shelf pieces. Their charm is in the shapes, covers, names, blank pages, handles and little shelf-sized characters.

Folklore can sit beside them as story. The broom custom belongs to old folk practice, and the familiar belongs to medieval and early-modern belief.

That makes the journal shelf feel more like a little prop cupboard, with covers, pages and ravens all doing their bit. Witchcraft gifts are on the site here: https://goldenhands.co.uk/collections/witchcraft
